Another feather on the cap of Delhi University as Alumni makes history

Delhi University has over many decades given this country great minds and talents. Many have emerged as global leaders today. That feat seems to continue with this great success story of Mr Akash Mehta, the youngest and the first from Asia to become the Company Director of London School of Economics and Political Science.

Akash Mehta has always been a pro active person who is self motivated to bring a change for a long time from his days in DU. He was a brilliant activist who completed his Bachelors in Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce and was the president of the student union. He was able to finish his tenure with a financial surplus. He later on worked with the Indian Government as a policy analyst for different departments, hailing from a small town of Gohana in Sonepat district of Haryana. He finished his schooling from Delhi Public School RK Puram.

He was recently elected to serve as a member of the court of governors. His major campaigns included subsidized food, health care expansion and a special focus on the students well being. Later on elected as the Company Director of LSE . He is the first from Asia and the Pacific and the youngest to get elected as the company Director.

Akash is currently pursuing his master’s in public administration with specialization in International Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) ranked second in the world after Harvard Kennedy School in the world. “My desire to make this world a better place to live has led me to study the dynamics of International development and make contributions with my strong econometrics and an analytical skill says Akash, when asked about his choice of the course.
