Why B.A. Program is on Demand in DU ?

The B.A. program offered by Delhi University saw a huge demand among applicants this year.
Lady Shri Ram College made for women have announced the first cut-off of 97.25 % for B.A. economics and now doesn’t have available seats for the general category. In the second and third cut-off list, all seats have been taken.
Similarly, At Aryabhatta College, most of the applicants took the admission for B.A. Program. According to Rk. Dwivedi, 74 admissions have been completed till Wednesday for B.A. Program in Politics and history.

The principal for several colleges said that the reason behind the rushes for this program could be given to many factors, including high cut-offs offered by various colleges.
Principal of Gargi College Promila said “ in the first list, the cut-off was very high for various subjects so students who wanted to ensure the seat ended up taking admissions in B.A. Program. As the second and third cut-off lists decreased a bit, applicants are shifting for other courses.
Praveen Kumar said the disadvantage of this course is that there is no depth knowledge in this particular subject. But the advantage is that students can apply for their masters in this particular subject. For example, students who are pursuing History political Science combination can apply for both courses in their post-graduation. Further, it is good to have more options for students.
Many others are attributed that B.A. A program is a good option for civil examination. Many students find the integrated programs interesting as they don’t have to stick to one subject.
