Delhi University may hold MPhil, PhD entrances in seven cities

To make things easier for students, the Delhi University which was gearing up for establishing six entrance examination centres outside Delhi is now planning to also conduct admission exams for M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses there.

Earlier the admission process for M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses used to go on till September as departments used to conduct their entrance exams individually. However, if this happens the exams might be conducted simultaneously.

The vice chancellor has constituted an 18-member standing committee, comprising deans of various faculties, which is deliberating upon the proposal of introducing six examination centres in Varanasi, Nagpur, Kolkata, Chennai, Jammu and Ahmedabad.

The tests are likely to be conducted in the first and second weeks of June. The admission process for the 2016-17 session is likely to begin by April 25.
