Schools and colleges to reopen in August 2020

The HRD Ministry of India earlier had issued guidelines regarding the re-opening of schools and colleges. It stated that the educational institutions will open with 30% attendance and the junior students till class 8 will remain at home. These institutions have been shut from 16 March and the students all over the nation are waiting for their schools and colleges to reopen. The decision was taken in the wake of deadly coronavirus cases rising in India.

It was expected that the cases might fall but this seems to be really far. In an interview recently, the HRD Minister , Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal (Nishank) revealed that the schools and colleges would reopen in August, probably after August 15, 2020.

He did not tell about it directly. He stated that the they are trying to declare the results for the current session by 15th of August this year as the pending CBSE Board Examinations and the final semester examinations for college students will be held between 1st to 15th July, 2020. To this when the reporter asked him if it meant that the educational institutions will open post August 15, he said “absolutely”.

This might bring a lot of discontentment to the students across the nation but an official order is still awaited.
