DU Student hangs herself – Another painful news about one Delhi University’s student.
A 21-year-old woman hangs herself after a fight at home.
Reason being her parents were against her relationship with a man that resides in her neighborhood.
She was pursuing her post-graduation from Shyam Lal Anand College.
In July, an 18-year-old woman from Bharati College committed suicide in college’s washroom after consuming pesticide.
After this case, the Student Union of Delhi University had appealed to the higher authorities to start a “Wellness Cell” in all colleges.
Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) secretary Mahamedhaa Nagar wrote a letter to the vice-chancellor:
“Students are unable to manage their stress. They do not have a place to vent their thoughts either at home or at school or college. Many battles an identity crisis. Uncertain about their future, they begin to isolate themselves and eventually slip into depression,”
