DU Admission 2017: All Courses, Eligibility Criteria and Important Dates

The online registration for admission into colleges affiliated with Delhi University has started from May 22, 2017. Students can begin their online registration process by simply logging in to the Delhi University i.e du.ac.in

This article will give you the knowledge about which Delhi University Course has what conditions, which one needs to fulfill in order to apply for Delhi University Admissions 2017.

Like every year, DU is offering a number of courses in the field of engineering, medical, commerce, science along with some new editions.

Here we bring you some important dates and information related to DU admissions, entrance exams, syllabus and many more.

Important Dates:

Undergraduate Courses (Only Entrance Based)

Online Registration Starts – 12th June 2017

Online Registration Last Date – 22nd June 2017

Admit Card Availability – 3rd week of June 2017

Date of Entrance Exam – 1st week of July 2017

Result Declaration – Second week of July 2017

Undergraduate Courses (Merit Based)

Online Registration Starts – 22nd May 2017

Online Registration Last Date – 12th June 2017

First Admission List Notification – 20th June 2017

Commencement of Classes – 20th July 2017

Admission Closed – 16th August 2017

Postgraduate Courses

Online Registration Starts – 12th June 2017

Online Registration Last Date – 22nd June 2017

Admit Card Availability – 3rd week June 2017

Date of Entrance Exam – First week of July 2017

Result Declaration – July 2017

Admission Fee Deposition Date – July 2017

Commencement of Classes – August 2017

Eligibility Criteria:

PG Courses:

The eligibility criteria for each programme in which candidate apply is different. Candidate will have to complete their graduation in their specific field from any recognized university.

There is no minimum age bar limit for admission in PG courses at Delhi University, except for courses regulated by bodies such as Medical Council of India, Bar Council of India, etc.

UG Courses:

Candidates have to qualify their Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto.

Candidates have to pass the qualifying examination obtaining minimum marks as specified for each of the courses.

B.Tech Course:

Candidates have to pass their 10+2 level from a recognized board. The minimum aggregate marks as given below (category wise):

General Category: 60 % in four subjects (including mathematics)OBC category: 54% in four subjects (including Mathematics)PH category:

55% in four subjects (including Mathematics)SC/ST category: Passing marks with Mathematics as one subject

Delhi University Exam Pattern:

The exam pattern will be different for different academic courses offered by the university.

The PG entrance exam will be OMR based examination. Candidates must note that for UG courses (merit based) there will be no entrance exam.

The entrance exam will be held for UG courses (entrance based) and PG courses.

Delhi University Syllabus:

The PG entrance exam syllabus will be different according to the candidate applying course. It contains the detailed syllabus of their graduation degree in specified programme.

The DU syllabus for the entrance test for UG courses is based on the academic syllabus of class 11th and 12th.

Candidates appearing for the UG Courses (entrance based) may check the official syllabus when the notification will be released by the university.

First Cut-off: 20th June 2017 (Tuesday)

Second Cut-off: 24th June 2017 (Saturday)

Third Cut-off: 1st July 2017 (Saturday)

Fourth Cut-off: 7th July 2017 (Friday)

Fifth Cut-off: 13th July 2017 (Thursday)

Sixth Cut-off: 18th July 2017 (Tuesday)
