12 Colleges of DU are facing financial Crisis

12 Colleges of Delhi the university funded by government are facing a financial crisis due to the low allocation of funds in the budget. Due to this, some colleges are facing problems like paying salaries to teachers.
According to the Registrar of Delhi University, Vikas Gupta will discuss this issue with the AAP government. The issue was also raised in Council Executive Meeting on 29th October.
This financial issue has affected Delhi University teachers a lot. They are not getting their basic salaries and other expenses.
Salaries have not been given to teachers for five months. Not only salaries, pensions, and other allowances also haven’t has been given to teachers said a senior teacher of Delhi University.
Subodh Kumar, a pa resident of the staff association of Maharaja Agrasen College and coordinator of all 12 collages said teachers want to continue the learning process with students but the government is not letting it happen.
The Government is facing some issues with Delhi University and this issue is continued before Covid-1 9 Pandemic. There was a tussle over the formation of governing bodies but they were formed. Then they alleged corruption in colleges and find nothing.
After the pandemic, they said they didn’t have money and slashed the budget. Earlier we are getting 28 crores but now brought down to 16 crores, said Subodh Kumar, The president of the staff association of the Maharaja Agrasen College.
Because of this behavior of the Delhi Government, teachers will be forced to protest . According to the official information before the pandemic college had 122 teachers but now only 115 teachers are left in Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College.
