DU Organised Viksit Bharat Run Event with 5000 Student Participants

Join the movement towards a developed India! Delhi University announces the ‘Viksit Bharat Run’ on May 8, rallying 5,000 students to symbolize national progress. In a aim to promote the vision of a developed India, Delhi University (DU) has declared the organization of the “Viksit Bharat Run” event, set to take place on May 8. The initiative aims to rally nearly 5,000 students in a 2.5-kilometer run, symbolizing their commitment to the nation’s progress.

The announcement came following a crucial meeting between university officials and Kuljeet Singh Chahal, a prominent figure in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and member of the New Delhi Municipal Council. With both parties aligning their vision for youth involvement in nation-building, the event is poised to be a significant stride towards fostering a sense of civic responsibility among students.

The Viksit Bharat Run Is part of the Viksit Bharat program, kicked off by the Prime Minister in December last year. It aims to provide young people with a platform to share ideas for the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’—the concept of a developed India by 2047, the 100th year of Independence.

Students from various DU colleges will participate in this marathon organised under the collective aegis of DU and the Vikas Bharat Ambassador Club. DU Vice-chancellor Yogesh Singh will be the chief guest for the event. A meeting to outline the preparations for the event was held under the chairmanship of DU registrar Vikas Gupta. The run will start from the main gate of the university at 7 am on May 8 and will finish at the sports complex at another gate. Around 5,000 students from different colleges will join the 2.4-kilometer run.

The objective behind organising the “Run for Viksit Bharat” Is to bring awareness in the society to make Bharat a developed nation by 2047. Invitation to colleges to participate in the run have been sent.

With the support of university authorities, faculty members, and local stakeholders, the Viksit Bharat Run event is poised to be a resounding success. Beyond the physical aspect of the run, it represents a symbolic gesture of solidarity towards a future where every citizen plays a role in shaping the destiny of the nation.
