Ragging? Don’t worry! Not in Delhi University

Ragging is something that most of us fear. Its basically an idea of the interaction between seniors n juniors which may turn worse at times. But, after the Hon’ble Supreme Court in Civil appeal no.887 of 2009,passed the judgement wherein guidelines were issued for setting up of a Central Crisis Hotline and Anti Ragging Database. After this step being taken, the university on its personal level has outgrown certain measures to eradicate it:

1. JOINT CONTROL ROOMS: DTC and Delhi metro and Delhi police has together set up 2 joint control rooms – one in North campus and the other in south campus to deal with such nuiances.

2. STRICT VIGILANCE: The college and hostels have been stringently ordered to restrict the entry of outsiders and keep a vigil at all eating places inside the campus. Also, police demonstrators will be placed outside every college to deal with any such incidents.

3. PERSONNEL IN PLAIN CLOTHES: Another step includes that several women personnels will be standing outside the colleges and in campus in plain clothes to take actions without being recognised by the accused.

4. MARTIAL ARTS PERSONNEL: Also, their will be personnels trained in martial arts to look over the sensitive places and issues on campus.

If any such thing happens to you, especially the newbies then there is your chance to get yourself out of it:
•) Drop a written complaint in your college complaint box.

•) Call the national Anti Ragging helpline no. 18001805522

•) Call the joint control rooms(north campus-27667221, South
campus – 24119832)

•) Call 100 or inform the nearest PCR van.
