We are again all set for the 18th Asian Games also known as Jakarta Palembang 2018, which is being hosted in two cities; the Indonesian capital of Jakarta and Palembang. Events are scheduled to be held from 18 August to 2 September, 2018.
For the first time, the Asian Games are being co-hosted by two cities.
The venue for the opening and closing ceremonies is Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta. Participants from 45 nations (including India) will be a part of 465 events in 40 sports. The event will be officially opened by the Indonesian President, Joko Widodo and Susi Susanti, retired Indonesian badminton player will be the torch lighter.

The motto for Asian Games is “Energy of Asia”.
The mascots for the game is same since 2016 which are Bhin Bhin—a greater bird-of-paradise, Atung—a Bawean deer, and Kaka—a Javan rhinoceros.
Closing ceremony will be hosted on 2nd September, 2018.
