DUET 2021: Application forms, Eligibility, Syllabus, Admit Card, Results

Every year, National Testing Agency(NTA) conducts a national level admission exam for Delhi University, DUET(Delhi University Entrance Test). DUET was started in 2019 as an opportunity for students aspiring to UG, PG and Doctorate courses from the University of Delhi. DUET is conducted online through a Computer-Based Test(CBT) across various Delhi University campus and approved centres.

DUET 2021: NTA is yet to release the dates for registration this year, but it is expected to start around the third week of July. The registration will start online on the NTA DUET portal 2021. The admission forms are likely to close by the end of August. The examination will be conducted for admission in postgraduate, PhD and few undergraduate programmes offered at the university and affiliated colleges. The test will be held in September on different dates in around 20 cities. The admit cards be released a week or two before the examinations with instructions to be followed for the exam. Answer key will be released after a week or 10 days. Results will be announced by October followed by merit lists and an online verification process on selection.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:

Important documents that will come in handy while filling DUET 2021 application form:

  • Self -Attested Class XII Mark Sheet (100-500 kb in size for upload in jpg/jpeg/png format).
  • Self -Attested Class X certificate/mark sheet containing Date of Birth (100-500 kb in size for upload in jpg/jpeg/png format).
  • Scanned signature of the applicant (10-50 kb in size for upload in jpg/jpeg/png format).
  • Passport size photograph of the applicant (10-50 kb in size for upload in jpg/jpeg/png format).
  • SC/ST/PWD/CW/KM Certificate (in the name of the Applicant) issued by the competent authority (100-500 kb in size for upload in jpg/jpeg/png format).
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate (in the name of the Applicant) issued on or after March 31, 2019. The OBC caste must be included in the Central list issued by the Government of India. (100-500 kb for upload in jpg/jpeg/png format).
  • Self-attested copies of Sports and/or ECA certificates. (100-500 kb in size per document for upload in jpg/jpeg/png format), if applying under these categories.
  • EWS Certificate issued by SDM certifying the applicant can claim reservation under this category, dated March 31, 2021, or later. 100-500 kb in size for upload in jpg/jpeg/png format).

SYLLABUS:

The Entrance Test will be based on-

General Awareness, Current Affairs, General Knowledge, Communication skills (English/ Hindi), Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability at 10+2 levels and respective subject knowledge.

Questions will be asked both in English and Hindi.

Postgraduate Courses

University has Merit-based admission for various courses along with entrance based admissions only for students who pursued their Bachelors from DU. Courses offered for PG programs:

The Eligibility for the PG courses requires a bachelor from a recognized university in the respective field with at least 50-55% marks in aggregate in UG (For General category). Students should check the detailed eligibility here:

M.Phil/ PhD Courses

SYLLABUS:

The entrance will be based on the syllabus of the masters of respective courses provided by the University for students and general knowledge of the subject. Check out the syllabus of the subjects here.

ADMIT CARD:

The admit card will be available on NTA’s website 1 week before the examination and the last day to download the admit card will be the day of examination. Candidate must carry a government ID proof such as Voter ID, PAN Card, Aadhar Card, Driving License, Passport along with the DUET 2021 Admit Card. The candidates must read all the instructions on the DUET 2021 admit card carefully and strictly follow them when the examination is being conducted.

  • DUET 2021 Admit Card will be valid only if the photograph is clear and legible. Candidates are advised to take a coloured printout of the admit card on A4 size paper. In case of illegible/unclear or no photograph on admit card, you are should bring two passport size colour photographs with them to affix on the admit card.
  • Carrying any items other than the hall ticket and the ID proof is strictly prohibited inside the exam hall.

ANSWER KEY and RESULT :

NTA releases the provisional DUET 2021 answer key on the official website. The candidates can use it to form an idea of their performance. The candidates can also challenge the answers with INR 200 per question if they think there’s some discrepancy in the answer key. The candidate must also be prepared with proof to support their challenge.

NTA will announce the DUET result 2021 in October, in online mode. Candidates can check their DUET result 2021 by using their login credentials and can also download it. Results will contain details such as total marks, form number, name of the candidate, gender of the candidate, roll number, All India rank, etc.

 

MERIT LIST and COUNSELLING:

The University will release its first merit list by October for DUET 2021. There may be up to eight merit lists depending upon the number of seats in the course. The candidate can analyze their performance with the answer key and wait for their names in the merit list given by the University. The merit list will contain the name of the candidate with the college they got based on their rank/score of DUET. For courses with further rounds, the shortlisted students are qualified for further rounds.

The candidates qualified for counselling rounds will get their further information through email. Dates for counselling is yet to be announced. The candidates must appear in person for DUET 2021 counselling for admission before the Admission Committee.

SELECTION and ADMISSION:

Selection/Admission will be done according to the merit list prepared based on the marks secured in the Entrance Test. A few days after the examination answer key is released for students. A merit list is followed by the result.

For UG; For all the entrance based courses the allotment of seats shall be done centrally and shall be displayed on the Admission Portal. Only the applicants who satisfy the
minimum eligibility criteria for the course will be considered for admission.

For PG; Admissions will be done strictly subject to the merit of the candidates and as per the availability of seats. Admissions for reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC etc.) will be strictly done based on the relevant provisions and guidelines of the University of
Delhi in force at the time of the Entrance Tests and Admissions. Admissions for foreign nationals will be done as per the guidelines of the University of Delhi in force at the time of the Admissions. However, the candidate must send his/her video performance on a CD/DVD along with the application form.

For M.Phil/ PhD; Candidates will be admitted in a two-stage process through (i) an Entrance Test (to be held once a year, a common entrance test for M.Phil. and PhD programme) and (ii) an interview that may be held twice in a year and more number of times if required.

After the candidate is shortlisted, Online verification of documents by respective colleges/ Centres/ Departments. The Colleges/ Centres/ Departments shall verify the documents uploaded by the applicant for eligibility.
