When you get admission into DU, The no. 1 university of the country. You usually come here with lots of ambitions and dreams which you wish to fulfil sooner or later. But by each passing day you either get lost into your new college life or you usually have your eyes set on your goals like Arjuna.
But in both cases, students generally miss an important, in fact the most important opportunity i.e., the chance to get into the societies of their respective colleges.
Societies of DU are the ones that make the fests alive. After all the performance of various societies work as the salt and pepper to the dish of these festivals. Students enjoy the competition conducted between various colleges and the favourite and most entertaining competitions of the students are dancing competitions, nukkad natak, treasure hunt, beg borrow steal and of course the star performance.
Without societies the daytime in fests will be like “banjar jameen”.
If you are able to get into any of the societies then you will be having a completely different identity in your class and the most important thing is that you will be having your own importance in the society and your college too.
So now if you have made your mind to join any of the societies of your college, I would suggest you to give preference to the registered ones. And the most popular societies amongst DU are of dance, music, debating societies and the last and not the least the nukkad natak societies or the dramatic societies, WDC(women development cell) and Enacts are prestigious too.
