DU: 50-50 grading for 1st and 2nd year students

In a recent notification following the release of OBE guidelines for final year students, University of Delhi has pronounced guidelines for intermediate students of UG and PG programmes of all streams including NCWEB and SOL amidst Covid 19 pandemic as one-time measure for the academic session 2019-20.

It has been notified that “students of intermediate semester/term/year, the grading of the students could be composite of 50% marks on the basis of the pattern of internal evaluation/assignment based evaluation adopted by the university/ colleges/faculty/centre wherever applicable and the remaining 50 % marks can be awarded on the basis of performance in previous semester/term/year only.”

And for those students who are not having any previous performance “shall be graded on the basis of 100 % assignment based evaluation.” In case of, “ex-students in the second year have to appear for examinations as per datesheet notified in OBE mode.”

All the students of SOL and NCWEB would also have to submit their assignment as per the schedule notified by SOL and NCWEB. Assignment by students will be accepted within the defined time period which would be counted from the date of the delivery of question papers through e-mode on the email address of respective students.

Further, it has been mentioned that “schedule, calendar and guidelines for the assignment based evaluation shall be decided by the SOL for the SOL students and by NCWEB for the students registered with the NCWEB.”

For those eligible for reappearance it has been said that the promotion of such students (for the subjects in which the student has failed in the previous year) will be allowed for the current academic year and every student will be promoted to the next year. However, such students will be required to clear the examinations for the course in which he/she has failed/remained absent and carry forward papers, when examinations are being held next year.
