The Odd- Even formula in Delhi implemented by The Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal is expected to return in April 2016 as it was appreciated by the Delhi public. For the convenience of public in this II Phase the CM said that he will increase the number of DTC Buses on road and the frequency of Delhi Metro Trains. Many two-floor elevated Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridors will also be constructed for the same.

This idea was taken from Beijing. In 2008 this formula was implemented in Beijing for the summer Olympics and afterwards in many other countries to curb road jams and pollution. Although in Delhi it didn’t proved to be very much successful in reducing air pollution as there are many other factors also which contribute towards it but was successful in curbing four wheelers traffic on road during those fifteen days (January 1-January 15).
So, recently Delhi Government held a meeting and announced that the government would seek public opinion on the implementation of this II phase and also issued an email id – [email protected] in this regard.
