CBSE Class 12th Marks Moderation Portal to Open by July 16

As stated in CBSE’s latest notification Portal for Class 12th and Class 11th marks moderation will be opened on July 16(afternoon) till midnight of July 22, 2021. CBSE has declared the release of Class 12 Board results by July 31.

CBSE has also provided schools with reference distribution for the moderation of marks including distribution of the marks, based on the best performance of the previous three years. The notice instructs schools to ensure there is no bunching of total marks in the range of 95 and above. The schools will then have to ensure the restriction number of students at each level will not be more than the students indeed scoring these overall marks from 95 and above as per their performance.

“To ensure compatibility and fairness at the higher range of marks, schools should exercise due diligence and ensure that there is no bunching of total marks in the range of 95 and above. The schools will, therefore, have to restrict the number of students at each level of overall marks from 95 and above, to ensure that this number is not more than the number of students scoring these overall marks as per the best historic performance of the last three years”, the notice read.

CBSE Class XII Moderation policy

The Board emphasised valid, reliable and unbiased result declaration for the students. Schools are mandated to moderate marks such that no student shall suffer any unequal application of Policy. “Moderating marks of Class-XI and XII will be a great responsibility, which has to be done in a manner to ensure justice and fairness to students.” Board also added, “It should be kept in mind that the responsibility of the Result Committee is being exercised on behalf of CBSE for the entire student population and should not be seen as limited to that of a particular school.”

The notice issued by Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examination CBSE, also mentioned, “In case, it is observed that a school has not followed the directions, CBSE before the preparation of result will moderate the marks to bring the awarded marks in consanance with the objectives of the policy. It is also informed that the changes made by the school in the data will be recorded by CBSE. If it is observed that the policy has not been followed in letter and spirit by schools, CBSE mat initiate action against such schools as stipulated in the policy.”

The notice has requested all the affiliated schools to strictly follow the schedule strictly and submit their moderation on time. If any school fails to submit the moderation within the stipulated time, their result will be declared after July 31.
