PRIVATIZATION IN DU
privatization refers to when any government institutions get in the hand of private players
But if we talk about the privatization of DU, it seems wrong to some extent and good to some extent.
So now examines to what extent it is good or bad
During these pandemic conditions, the government does have not have enough money to handle all institutions.
Even we can see, many governments handle organizations is getting down into the flame or goes into the hand of the private sector. Like BNR company limited, engineering projects India limited, air India, etc.
Privatization of such companies makes us realize to think about privatization of DU as well.
IOE TAG IN DU LEADS TO PRIVATIZATION
IOE (INSTITUTE OF EMINENCE), given to DU leads to make it privatized
institute of Eminence tags means the Universities that come under this tag will go to become world-class universities in the future.
In the process of making it world-class, it laid outside the purview of its statutory body, leads a step toward privatization
AAD( academic for action and development) said that they will establish a board of governors( BOG ), which will NOT lie under the purview of a statutory body.
BOG will be in charge of the fund received under IOE, And will not be criticized by any government institutions.
IMPACT ON UNDERPRIVILEGED CLASS
Delhi University is the university of diversity, as it consists of all types of students under itself.
There is no discrimination in any aspect but after privatization,
students belong from the lower class will not get the opportunity to continue their academics in such an eminent university
If it will provide any reservation for lower-class students then it will increase inequality among students.
Parents from low-class backgrounds will not able to fill the pocket of capitalists.
THE POSITIVE SIDE
The conditions of today colleges are not much fortunate, because government funding is getting low it prefers improvement in infrastructure, after privatization, this problem will get vanished
Privatization may improve the quality of the environment because private players will provide more money.
Students have grips for lack of electricity, gonna improve after privatization
Most of the time, we see riots, strikes, rallies around the campus, which will also have a chance to vanish.
