8 Personalities You Find in Your Classroom Watch out, people! One of them might just be sitting next to you on the first day of your college. College life offers you new opportunities, freedom and friendships. It’s time to make the most of it. So, are you ready to discover the tapestry of faces all around you? Let’s begin…  1.The Musician  The one always carrying a guitar on his back ready to strike the chords of symphony.  Usually a part of the music society of your college, he is ready to compose and  endlessly connect with rhythms.   Bob Dylan or The Beatles? Which one is your favourite? You never ever choose  between legends.  Morphine in the air?      2.The Athletes  They rarely turn up for classes and even if they do, attendance is the sole reason. You  can spot them only at the examination time. They take rounds of the sports room,  discussing about various competitions with the teacher. We swoon over their  attractive trophies, agree? The lamp of pride is illumined inside us when we see our  classmates being felicitated.   “Sattar minute hain tumhaare paas!”      3. The Artists  These are the students who excel in academics but also nurture their creativity by the art of  writing. They can turn the shadows in the night to beautiful figures and make stories about  them.  Artists who take studies seriously, get good scores, and also nourish their faculty by  thinking and relishing the beauty of art and imagination.  The future lasts forever for them.    4. The Nerds  Those who always study and rarely socialize with anyone. They have an air of unspeaking  reticence. It is also important to explore the world outside, but in the end, it is one’s choice. It depends on how the person wants to condition his/her mind.   I’m studious from my cerebral cortex to my glutenous… Remember?    5. The gossip Mongers  Those who come to college just to spread news about another person. Seriously? Get a life.  There is a lot more to do. Don’t get tricked by the fake whiteness of their smile. It is nothing  but concocted sugaring.   They are simply addicted to gossip and seize on any opportunity that comes their way.      6. The Fashionista  The golden glowing skin with brown hair! You can update yourself by getting to know about  the latest fashion trends and accessories from them. Given a chance, they would style a  Vogue model in accordance with the current style. From Stilettos to Palazzos, from lip colours to nail art, they know everything about the latest taste.  Very ethnic! Very chic!   Bonny lass, aren’t you?     7. Leaders of Tomorrow  They are revolutionary, their hearts glowing with the fire of passion. They are ready to fight  against the unjust societal norms by invading the sinister elements and knocking them down. Raw and transparent, one can see the roots of their livelihood growing from within.   Fearless chaps who can create a stir, wherever they go.   Remember, Abhay Deol from Ranjhanaa?  ​  8. Clueless  Staring in their smartphones, they are engaged in uploading photos on facebook or chatting  on Whatsapp during class hours. When everyone in the class is busy submitting their  assignments, they connect the headphone jacks to their devices, with music screaming loud  into their ears. The best part is, “They don’t care.”  "Man, I’m freaking. I could really use some sort of herbal refreshment!"    Anyway, freshers! A new phase is going to begin in your life. You all should untangle every  thread and enjoy it. Different characters and personalities, ideas and motives, will all lead  you to a greater understanding of what college life is. Seasons return, college life does not!   Au Revoir! By Geetha From Venketeshwara College, DU
